Where are condos and attached homes in Plano?

Windrose Tower at Legacy West is a high-rise with condo homes. It is close to the Legacy District's shops and offices and the City's Legacy Circulator shuttle. Downtown Plano has been rebuilt since the mid-1980s. That work brought new housing near two DART rail stations.

Newer attached homes are coming through redevelopment. Collin Creek plans about 500 attached single-family homes. Haggard Farm's plan shows 188 townhomes, and the developer is aiming to open in fall 2027. An attached home may be a condo or a townhome you own outright with an HOA. So check how each one is set up.

What should I know about condo fees and reserves?

Association dues pay for shared insurance, upkeep and reserves. Reserves are savings for big repairs such as roofs and elevators. Low reserves can lead to special assessments (one-time extra charges) later. Ask what the dues cover and how much is in reserve. Ask whether any major projects are planned.

What is a Texas resale certificate?

For a condo, Texas Property Code Section 82.157 sets the rule. The association must issue a resale certificate within 10 days of a written request. It must show unpaid assessments and capital spending approved for the next 12 months. It must also show reserves, pending lawsuits, insurance, the operating budget and transfer fees.

For a townhome in a property owners' association, Section 207.003 requires similar facts within 10 business days. That includes regular and special assessments, reserves, lawsuits and insurance. Read both closely before your option period ends.

What rental and other rules should I check?

Read the declaration and rules. Look for limits on renting, minimum lease terms, pet rules and parking. If you plan to rent the unit out later, confirm the rules allow it before you buy.
